This time, she comes into the world as Thalia, in the north of London. Daughter of ZEUS and BERYL GRACE, an ambitious but unstable actress. After her father leaves, BERYL falls into alcoholism, forcing THALIA to grow up far too quickly. They eventually move to the States to further her mother's career. When she turns seven, ZEUS returns, but in a rather strange form: he's roman. He is more paternal, yet strict, and tries to teach her Latin. Her mother becomes pregnant soon after, and the light of Thalia’s world is born: JASON. Thalia had considered running away from home, but her baby brother’s birth changed everything. Once again, the god leaves them, and this time BERYL descends into madness, leaving Thalia alone to care for the infant.When THALIA is nine, and JASON is two, their mother takes them on a picnic but when THALIA returns after going to take the picnic basket from the car, JASON is gone, kidnapped by HERA. Convinced that her mother has harmed her brother, THALIA runs away.Relentlessly attacked by monsters, she tries to pray to her father for help, but he never answers. At one some point, she comes across the goat AMALTHEIA, who guides her into a dragon’s cave, where she meets LUKE CASTELLAN. They decide to join forces to fight the monsters together.A powerful bond forms between them, and feelings begin to grow on her side. From then on, it’s the two of them against the world, and nothing else matters. They share the same resentment toward the gods and their mistreatment, knowing they need no one but each other.During their journey, they meet HALCYON GREEN, a demigod son of APOLLO. He is one of the rare half-bloods who has reached adulthood. Cursed by his father, he can no longer speak and is doomed to lure demigods into his monster-infested house. There, with LUKE's help, THALIA retrieves the Aegis, a formidable weapon with a terrifying aura. HALCYON foretells that THALIA will sacrifice her life for her friends, something LUKE struggles to accept, and he also predicts that LUKE will commit a betrayal, enraging THALIA. She forgives HALCYON only when he sacrifices his own life to save theirs. They manage to escape the cursed house by blowing it up with Greek fire. His loss hits them hard, showing them once more how little the gods care for their children.They soon meet ANNABETH CHASE and decide to take her under their wing. From now on, they vow to protect the seven-year-old girl, especially since THALIA sees in her the brother she lost.After several misadventures, one of which leaves THALIA with an injured leg and MAY CASTELLAN, they cross paths with the satyr GROVER, who tells them about the Camp. Though reluctant at first, they eventually agree for ANNABETH 's sake. The attacks intensify, as HADES, furious with ZEUS, seeks to take revenge on his only daughter. On their way, they encounter ARTEMIS and her Hunters, and Thalia gets into a heated argument with them, especially ZOE NIGHTSHADE when they suggest she join their ranks, implying that LUKE isn’t worthy of her and will betray her.Later, GROVER inadvertently leads them into a cyclops’ lair, slowing them down and allowing Hades’ monsters to catch up. They are then attacked by multiple creatures: the three Furies and an army of Hellhounds. Thalia gives her life to save her friends. Mortally wounded, she is shown "mercy" by ZEUS, who transforms her into a pine tree. The tree has magical properties, protecting Camp, ensuring that demigods would finally be safe. Her memory becomes a symbol for the campers, and her sacrifice inspires countless demigods.Knowing LUKE's weaknesses, KRONOS promises to bring THALIA back to life if he joins him, and together they will avenge themselves on the gods. The tree is poisoned and, just as KRONOS planned, the Golden Fleece restores THALIA to life, placing his piece on the board of the Great Prophecy.
